About Hannah

If there’s one thing I hope people experience when they listen to me on the radio, it’s that what you hear is genuinely who I am. I’m a people person at heart. I care about people, love a good conversation and believe there’s a story behind everyone. I bring warmth, personality, honesty and a healthy dose of real life to the microphone. I believe you don’t have to be perfect to connect with people; you just have to be yourself. For me, radio is about so much more than music. It’s about connection, laughter, shared experiences and positive conversations that make people feel seen, included and part of something. I want listeners to feel like they’re chatting with someone relatable, not listening to a perfectly polished voice reading a script. As a Wellbeing Expert and through my work with Seed Wellbeing, supporting people and making a positive difference in our community are at the heart of what I do. Our partnership with Express FM gives me another platform to champion wellbeing, bring people together and share meaningful conversations. Radio is also a creative outlet for me, allowing me to express myself, give back and connect with people from all walks of life. Perhaps what makes my approach different is that I’m not trying to be anyone other than me. I bring authenticity, personality and a genuine passion for people to the airwaves. I’m incredibly proud to be nominated If you enjoy my style and believe radio should be real, relatable and full of heart, please vote!

About Portsmouth's Express FM

Express FM is Portsmouth’s not-for-profit community radio station, established in 2006 to celebrate the city, its people and its diverse communities. Broadcasting on 93.7 FM, DAB digital radio and online, Express FM brings together music, local news, sport, entertainment and conversations that reflect life in Portsmouth. At its heart, Express FM is about more than radio. It provides a platform for local voices, supports community initiatives, champions local businesses, celebrates creativity and gives people opportunities to share their stories, ideas and talents. Powered by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, the station plays an important role in connecting people, raising aspirations and showcasing the positive things happening across Portsmouth. Its not-for-profit ethos means its work is focused on giving back to the community it serves. For presenters, volunteers and community partners, Express FM offers an opportunity to make a difference through the power of conversation, connection and shared experiences. Express FM is local radio with a purpose — celebrating Portsmouth, championing its people and helping keep the community connected.

The journey

My journey began through my own lived experience of poor mental health. At a time when I felt most vulnerable, I recognised how much I needed support, connection and a space where I could feel understood without judgement. That experience inspired me to create something I needed myself — Seed Wellbeing. Something built on compassion, real-life experience and the belief that nobody should have to navigate life’s challenges feeling alone. My experiences have shaped who I am, my values and my passion for helping others. They remind me that wellbeing isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about listening, connecting and creating spaces where people feel seen, heard and valued. Today, through Seed Wellbeing and my partnership with Express FM, I continue to turn my experiences into something positive, using my voice to encourage honest conversations, break down stigma and make a difference in our community.

Why your vote matters

Every vote would mean so much more to me than winning an award. It would be recognition of the journey, my lived experiences and the passion I have for connecting with people and making a difference. To everyone who has listened, encouraged me, shared their story on the show or supported me along the way, thank you! You may not realise how much it means to have you in my corner. This nomination is personal because it represents so much of who I am and why I do what I do, through both Seed Wellbeing and Express FM. Whatever the outcome, I’m genuinely grateful to everyone who believes in me. Your support means more than words can say.
