Amber Mehmood

Amber is the lead producer for the Business Daily programme on the BBC World Service, overseeing interviews with prominent leaders, CEO’s, founders and influential figures that resonate with a global audience. Examples of her work include producing an interview with the CEO of Ferrari, Lamborghini, Standard Bank, Jimmy Choo, the founder of OYO hotels, and Zscaler - and more. She previously focused on financial news production, producing a weekly consumer programme for BBC Radio 4. Some of the key topics Amber covered included changes in the UK housing market, the rising cost of living, mortgage challenges, rental issues and leasehold concerns. Additionally, she tackled subjects on bereavement expenses, the financial implications of a divorce, and advice on pensions, wills and tax returns. Before joining the Money & Work team in Salford, Amber honed her investigative journalism expertise through roles on popular BBC consumer programs like Watchdog and Rip Off Britain. She focused on investigating viewer complaints related to trader issues and UK retailer practices, successfully building legal cases against them that ultimately held several prominent brands responsible for their actions.
