In Jessica's own words

I started reporting with the Belfast Telegraph on MediaHuis Ireland's Emerging Talent programme. Through the programme I have been able to gain experience within a variety of journalism strands. I've dealt with breaking news, long reads, features and even some opinion pieces. I know how to adapt my writing to a digital first approach and I'm developing the skills needed to create impactful and insightful multi-media journalism. I shoot, edit and produce video to supplement my written pieces. I'm also keen to spot emerging stories as they develop on social media, I have a TikTok account @NIHeadlines where I discuss Northern Ireland's daily news, in a quick yet informative way.
