In Andrew's own words

I’m a multimedia journalist and digital editor with more than seven years’ experience in local journalism, newsroom leadership and digital storytelling. I’m currently Digital Audience and Content Editor for the Bury Times, part of Newsquest Media Group, where I lead daily online coverage, edit and optimise stories for digital platforms, and work with reporters to produce impactful, search-driven journalism that connects with local readers. Before moving to Greater Manchester, I was News Editor at Notts TV, managing the live news and magazine programme Notts Today. I led a team of reporters, producers and BBC-funded Local Democracy Reporters, set the daily agenda for Nottinghamshire, and helped train new journalists through the Nottingham Trent University Journalism Pathway scheme. Alongside this, I lectured in Media Law and Public Affairs at Nottingham Trent University, designing and delivering modules on court reporting, defamation, contempt, privacy and media regulation, while also co-teaching practical journalism skills such as feature writing, podcasting and news production. Earlier in my career, I was a Local Democracy Reporter covering nine councils across Nottinghamshire, breaking exclusive stories on council governance and spending. I was named runner-up for New Local Democracy Reporter of the Year for my coverage of major regional developments. I also worked as a digital reporter for the Nottingham Post, leading coverage through the pandemic and helping launch Mansfi
